Why did Emily Covington want to help collect 200 books with University of Louisiana at Lafayette'sThe University of university Student Leadership Council? Because reading is important to her:
"My mom read to me every night growing up, and as soon as I learned how to read, I spent the majority of my time with my nose in a book. I think it's important for children to develop a love for reading because it broadens their imagination and strengthens their minds. I don't have the research to back it up, but I'm willing to bet that children who spend more time reading do better in school and score higher on standardized tests!"
And UWA was happy to help connect UL's SLC with Alice Boucher Elementary. Thanks to the council and all who donated! #pacteducation #liveunited
