We do believed that people can benefit from good advice that's not necessarily related to a product. Being independent BRG advisers work for fee-for-service NOT for commissions gained by recommending certain products, like the big banks do. This means we only have your best interests in mind. In their blog Industry Moves speak highly of independent financial planners.

Independent financial advice means the client always comes first. There are no huge commissions for advisers, like the big banks offer and we do not push products. It is for these reasons and more that former MLC chief executive Steve Tucker believes the consumer will increasingly demand independent financial advice. If you would like to learn more about our independent services contact BRG enquiries@baileyroberts.com.au

"Adele Ferguson examines a sales-driven culture inside the Commonwealth Bank's financial planning division that has been described as profit at all cost - a culture that has been built on commissions"

This Four Corners Report really shows why independent businesses, like BRG, rather than the big banks are so important to the consumer. We are working for you, not for ourselves.

Following up on our article last week about the difference between big companies and independent firms, did you know some firms are actually owned by the Financial Institutions? Have a look at this table identifying the partial or full ownership of the larger financial planning practices by the Financial Institutions.

If you don't know the difference between big companies and independent firms, such as Bailey Roberts Group, you should have a read.

"An AMP-linked adviser has warned the financial advice system is rigged against consumers because big companies have a bias towards pushing their own products. This bias towards in-house products reduces competition and may result in savers paying over the odds for investment products"
