Happy Holidays from all of us at the East Hampton Library!

Dear Friend,

“Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers” the educator Charles W. Eliot once wrote years ago.

This year marks the 114th year of the East Hampton Library serving the residents of the Town of East Hampton. Throughout the years the Library has kept true to our mission of meeting the informational, knowledge and literary needs for our patrons and maintaining the Long Island Collection for historical research in the future.

The world has changed a lot in the past 114 years and the library has worked hard to provide new technologies, increased hours, varied materials, timely lectures and insightful and exciting programs, all in direct response to the needs and wishes of our community.

Your past generosity has made it possible for us to continue this long tradition of service to the community. As the end of the year approaches, we hope you will continue your support for the library.

Your year-end contribution would make the world of difference to everyone in the Town. Your gift keeps on giving and will have an infinite impact. Everything we do and offer at the library is free due in part to your generosity.

With your very generous support, we will continue to work hard to make the East Hampton Library one of the finest small libraries in America.

Thank you and best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season.
