The op-ed on HuffPo by Oregon Tech President Chris Maples compares the care required to ride his motorcycle to the focus needed to guide a quick and nimble small university. Oregon Tech is on a roll: its graduates rank first among all Oregon colleges and universities in average starting and mid-career salaries, and 38th out of more than a 1,000 universities reported by payscale.com.

Look who's coming to our AM:PR PR party. Intel's veteran spokesman and long-time PR colleague has included affiliating with AM:PM as part of post-Intel life. Merry Christmas to us. And certainly a Happy New Year.

The group opposing Measure 81 responded to this weekend's decision by sponsors of the measure to drop their campaign for yes votes. Opposition to the measure from the Governor, the tribes, those with experience in fisheries management and half the organizations that originally supported the initiative forced their decision. But the measure remains on the ballot, and those of us opposing it will continue to seek a NO vote. We're happy to have the measure's sponsors join us in making that recommendation.
The group behind Measure 81 has decided to end its campaign, but that doesn't mean our fight is over. This measure is too dangerous to turn our backs on.

Sad news this weekend. Had to blog about losing a good friend and great PR pro – Peter Morrissey of Boston's Morrissey & Co. He's the kind that gives PR people a good name. http://www.ampmpr.com/2012/08/missing-a-mentor-today/

Our logo master needs help picking logo looks for the last two holidays of February. Can you help her?
We're giving out virtual beads to anybody who helps us pick our next holiday logos. Mardi Gras and Leap Day are fast approaching, so cast your vote.
