Still not made it here for karaoke - one day! Rated as a gig venue and nightclub. Particular hat tip to tregular retro night where they play music from the 1950s-1970s - every song will have you up and dancing. Entry is £5 before midnight I think, and extra charge for cloakroom use. Drinks are a pretty standard selection and price.
If karaoke is your thing (it is mine) then the electric circus should be your first stop. They have several rooms each decorated differently where you can sing your heart out for as long as you want with only your friends having to suffer your singing. It is also fast becoming a great small venue for the live music scene in edinburgh with an interesting selection of new upcoming bands and some stalwarts of the scottish music scene.
I loooooove this place. This karaoke bar is so much fun for a night out. Been here for a few hen parties and a works night out and had a great time. There are lots of roms of varying size so can accommodate small or large parties with bright coloured doors. There is also a main bar and dance area where they have a DJ and live bands with cinema screen in background. Only bad thing is the mics break
This place is perfect if you're looking to hire out a karaoke room. If you're there for a night out, prepare to sharpen your elbows 'cause that place gets busy quickly.
It's also home to an older audience. So no partying with 18 year olds... which is nice.
