People keep talking about the ratings agencies and how they could downgrade the United States.
The ratings agencies are total trash. They missed the warning signs before one of the largest financial collapses of the past 100 years... e.g. didn't call out trashy subprime mortgages when they should have. Also, more recently, they missed Iceland's economic rebound.
Ratings agencies are not omnipotent. Chill, people. The US is still the largest, most powerful economic market in the world. Maybe not for long, but for now, yes.
