Great Place to come with your significant other to eat and drink while watching the movie of your choice. Food is awesome and mixed drinks are awesome. Not a movie person but you love sports well Mx bar has all the current sports for that day right on the big projection screen with courtesy popcorn and friendly upbeat bartenders!!!!!

MX Movies provides a great, unique movie watching experience. I love the idea of a quaint, yet upscale movie theater nestled in downtown St. Louis. The bar inside is the perfect place to have a drink or a bite to eat while you wait for your show to begin, and they even play classic black and white films on a projector over the bar. The vibe is great, and the bartenders are very friendly. The seating inside the actual theaters is comfortable, and the opportunity to order anything, even candy, from your seat is superb. Many theaters offer this type of experience now, but MX Movies makes the experience more personal than that of Wehrenberg. The only downfall is that there are very few theaters inside MX Movies so there will only be a select few movies showing (and some of the top new movies don't always open here), and shows sell out rather quickly since the theaters are small. These factors make this a much more exclusive experience though, which I love.

This was the worst theater experience ever. When you order tickets online, you have to stand in the regular ticket purchase line to get the tickets. Then you have to go back to the main entrance line. The seats were uncomfortable at best. They do not recline. We called for a waiter to ask about additional drink options when the movie first started. The waiter never came. Overall, this didn't feel like a premium theater. I will never visit this theater again.

Let me say my first visit to this theater was very nice. I'm not sure what happened, but my most recent visit was totally different. I bought a ticket for the show and the cashier guy didn't print the ticket. First he claimed he gave it to me with my change. I responded "you didn't". Then he said..oh you don't need it. I know you bought a ticket, just go ahead in. But what if I wanted it???? How do I know you applied the sale towards the movie I requested and not some other movie?? When I asked could he print a ticket, he said no. He kept telling me, that I didn't need a ticket, just go on in the theater. After sitting in the theater for 20 minutes, he comes up to where I was sitting with one ticket for the movie. Really?! but there was 2 of us. He said that he was able to print a ticket after all? I check to make sure it was the movie I wanted. Then the popcorn was stale! I asked about salt. He said they didn't have any. WHAT?! Really?! Then the cashier guy changed his tuned and said..well it was here last night but I have to go look for it. WOW!!! Okay. I guess stale, buttered popcorn won't kill me.:) Then, there was some confusion about parking. When I asked did they validate. The cashier guy said they did not, but luckily some older gentleman, I guess the manager, told him they did. It's free on Saturdays. Whew!!! thank goodness!!! One other thing that struck me as weird. I went to get a refill for stale popcorn and this time someone found the salt!! Yay!!!! When I came back into the theater the movie had started. There were no previews!!! I was kind of taken by surprise I thought I had at least a couple of minutes to get popcorn and get back to my seat. NO' SIR!!! The movie started IMMEDIATELY!!!! No previews or close captioned warnings. They didn't even show the no cell phone commercial!!!! Overall, my experience was lackluster. I'm not sure if I will visit this theater again or not. Maybe the staff needs more training. Who knows!!! The customer service was truly sub-standard.

Prepare to pay for an underwhelming experience. Expensive tickets, seats that look much cooler than they are comfortable. Oh, and then there is parking. Supposed to be free, you know. But apparently not. Not even at 10pm on a Sunday, when the exiting line is held up for 5 minutes by a less than helpful attendant who, as it then turns out, is not authorized to let you out without proper validation. Because, you know, if you're in a commercial parking ramp at 10pm on a Sunday with every other business closed but this movie theater, the parking lot attendant is still not allowed to use common sense. So prepare to spend another $6 on parking, because the world's slowest ticketing girl will not only ensure that you are late to your movie, regardless of the time of your arrival, but she will not give you any instructions about parking either. P.S. Arrive at least 10 minutes early. Otherwise you will be stuck with world's most terrible side seats that will distort any movie to the point you'd rather watch it home on a VHS if you've had an option. Bottom line, for the money, worst movie theater experience in St. Louis.

This was my second visit and my last. The ticket office was not open either time. You must go to the concession stand to get tickets. They no longer bring food to you which would have been ok except you miss a third of the movie having to go back and forth to find out if your order is ready. 30 minutes is the least amount of time. The last time they had different start times for the movie online. I arrived to find out the movie started 30 minutes prior. The manager at first said we were mistaken until 6 other people arrived. She offered us a different movie with a later start time. Lastly, I stood in line for tickets at the concession stand and moved over to the food line only to find out the line I was in for tickets was also the line for food. UGH
