Thirty years of data are in and the results are - decreasing taxes on the highest income earners does not contribute to growth. Decreasing tax rates does, however, decrease tax revenues.   #PNTP   #TrickleDown

For anyone who has ever experienced not having enough to pay your bills, you can appreciate Puerto Rico's situation somewhat. Unfortunately for them, they can't declare bankruptcy (Congress won't let them) and they aren't going to be bailed out (the Executive Branch decided against it.) Instead, businesses and people are leaving the island, which helps them, but not the island. #PNTP   #PuertoRicoDebt
Puerto Rico can't pay its bills. It officially has missed a debt payment of $58M on debt of $72B. The US Congress hasn't given the territory the right to declare bankruptcy (like Detroit). The Exec...

A lot of data this month. Which is why Pretending Not To Panic exists. Data rather than rhetoric. Data on economy, the environment, and social movements. #PNTP
US wages rose 3.3%. Humans can lay bricks at 700/hr. Robots, 1,000/hr. Americans turning away from owning homes as only 41% expect to buy. Job participation is steady or down at 62.6%, regardless o...

We'll get around to fixing the highways eventually. Right? It's only concrete and asphalt. And something like $1T to $3T. Put off maintenance for a few decades and the costs add up. Now, about those taxes.
Maintaining a highway is more than fixing potholes. The US Interstate Highway system was designed to connect the lower 48 states. It did that and does that; but, each bit of pavement only has an ex...

Is Long Term Buy and Hold too old? Is it just that the world forgot how to be patient?
Oh no. Not more about MicroVision. Yep. But not because it is MicroVision. This blog is an extension of my book, Dream. Invest. Live., which I knew could only represent what happened up until it wa...

In case you missed the data and the news: beehive collapses = 42%, probable culprits identified = pesticides duh, progress getting governments to act = slow. #hivecollapse   #PNTP
Honey bee losses continue. Science is finding causes like pesticides and is working more quickly than governments. Pesticide use continues. About 42% of beehive colonies in the US were lost between...

Is this poetic or ironic? Washington DC is a tidal town, so it has to worry about sea level rise. It's also built on a swamp, which isn't the most stable soil. Now, they're realizing that the bedrock is dropping about six inches every century. Whether we clean up DC or not, Mother Nature is getting ready to give it a good wash and rinse.
As if rising sea levels weren't enough, Washington, D.C., a nation's capitol built in a tidal zone in a swamp, was also built on land that is sinking in response to the retreat of the last ice age....
