NEW WICCAN WAY GROVE CLASS STARTING IN NOVEMBER
please share/repost with individuals or groups if you know people who might be interested

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm getting a new Wiccan Way Grove started in November.

WWG for those who don't know is a year & a day Eclectic Wiccan training course online. This will be the 3rd one I've done online. There are weekly lessons, live discussions, real time online rituals, homework, exercises (individual & group), etc... it is the next best thing to sitting around a campfire together every week (which is how it was when I took a Wiccan Way Grove pre-interenet, lol).

It's a closed group and members are selected carefully because we do a lot of personal discussions and spiritual work together, and a trusting bond needs to be formed between grovemates. So if you want to get invited please inquire to join the FB group that WWG members have created:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/wiccanwayseekers/?fb_dtsg_ag=AdxeC3XGjFl8zkgaePoqHq9MczWesOHIohu9rJWKqpN9LA%3AAdw3ycWgkN-pw96M--VwFH69pUUjUhJp4r9XtcHO01sSDA

If you're accepted into the FB group, post and chat and get to know members, ask any questions you have, and if they think you're a good fit for the WWG then you will be sent an invite (18+ only).

If you don't use FB, then post below and I will check out some of your Google + groups and posts or we'll chat a bit, and see if this might be a good fit for you.

The FB group is best though because most people there have previously taken Grove and they can tell you their perspective.

NEW WICCAN WAY GROVE (year & a day class) STARTING: FAQ

What is the Wiccan Way Grove (WWG)?
The WWG is a year-and-a-day long training program for people interested in learning Wicca. I was trained in a WWG when I first started, long before there was the internet or even many books on the topic, and it really helped move me along on my path. In turn, I now teach a WWG of my own, and one day you might pay it forward and teach your own WWG.

What do people learn in the WWG?
WWG is a year-long training program for those interested in learning Wiccan (thus, Pagan) Witchcraft. You don't have to be specifically Wiccan, or a Witch; as long as you're a sincere seeker who wants to learn about Witchcraft and Pagan Spirituality through the lens of Wicca.

The Grove is broken up into four 12-week sessions.
Winter: The first session lays a foundation of philosophies and practices: defining Witchcraft, Wicca and Paganism; key liturgy; intro to what ritual is (purpose, styles, etc.), the basics of ritual tools, intro to mindfulness, meditation and energy work, an intro to exploring different concepts of deity and contemplating your own concept.
Spring: The second session builds on those foundations. We will continue to work on meditation and energy work as you develop and improve your skills; we'll explore the Elements and the role they play in life and spirituality. Till now we've examined the Divine in a very broad concept and we'll start to narrow that down. We'll also study the history of Wicca and Witchcraft. Basically we start taking a lot of those spiritual concepts and religious practices we've looked at and consider how they apply to our lives, and how we can make them work for us as part of our lifestyle.
Summer: The third session we begin to explore magic and spellcasting more deeply. We'll get into more advanced training with meditation/mindfulness and learn about the different states of consciousness, and the role they play in spirituality, ritual and magic. We'll learn about basic philosophies of magic and how it works, and how to apply them. We'll look at different methods and techniques used in magic and Witchcraft so the student can decide where he or she might like to start this undertaking.
Fall: In the fourth and final session, we begin wrapping it all up by coming full circle. We go deeper into self-exploration and spiritual pathworking. Students are introduced to more advanced concepts in spiritual practices, energy work and mental training that they might move on to as they continue on their path. We discuss where your path might go from here so you can develop a more personalized system of beliefs and practices on your own individual path.
Ongoing throughout the year: Throughout the entire grove we will celebrate the cycles of the Moon and the Seasons, discuss the 'big themes' such as life, death, and everything in between.

How does the WWG work?
The point of Grove is for the lessons to be live & interactive (not a correspondence course) while offering as much practical experience as is possible over the internet, and giving you a group of grovemates with which to bond so that you can help, inspire and grow together in a safe, private setting.
For each session, lessons will be posted on a weekly basis, along with assignments and supplemental sources suggested for you to raid. You can complete lessons and assignments at your own leisure (though there is a benefit to keeping up the pace of the class when you can). You can use our private forum for questions, discussions, or just to socialize with the rest of your grovemates. There is also a Campfire Chat room open 24/7 for anyone who feels like using it.

Just about every week there will also be an real-time interactive meeting for rituals, guided meditations, questions & answers, discussion and the like. Attendance is optional.

Lessons are all online using Google + Communities (our home base for discussions and socializing), Google Classrooms (for lessons), Google Hangouts (for chats) and Go To Meeting (for weekly live interactive meetings, rituals, etc.).

It's the next best thing to sitting there around the fire together as I did when I took my Grove class 20 years ago. We form a community with a strong bond and support each other through the learning stages.

When is the WWG?
This year's Wiccan Way Grove will start in November 2018 and conclude in November 2019.

Live meetings will usually be held on Wednesdays from 8 pm to 9:30 pm US Eastern Standard time. The first class will be on November 7th.

Attendance to live meetings is not mandatory. I realize with different time zones and work schedules and internet connection situations, it can be difficult.

Transcripts/recordings will be made available if possible for those who wish to keep up but could not make the meeting.

How do I know if the WWG is right for me?
You read everything above, and decide. But I can tell you how to know if it's not right for you:

- If you are unable to commit to an intensive year-long study, the WWG is probably not for you.
- If you're merely curious about Wicca in a passive way, but don't really intend to practice it or spend time on it on a weekly basis, I suggest reading some of my articles or check out some recommended resources instead. The WWG is probably not for you.
- If you're very superstitious and have a fear of Pagan Gods, meditation, energy work, things to do with the occult, Witchcraft, etc., then needless to say, the WWG is not for you.
- If you are only interested in learning magic and spells, the WWG is not for you. These are only part of what the WWG covers, and we don't even get to that until about 8 months in.
- You don’t have to be Wiccan to take the WWG, but you should be looking to learn about Pagan religion and spirituality through the lens of Wicca. If you have little to no interest in the Wiccan religion-- actual religious practices, liturgy, etc.-- the WWG is not for you.
- If you are looking to learn about vampires, werewolves, therians, fairies, mermaids, Satanism, Ceremonial Magic, powers that create special effects (fireballs, waterbending, conjuring up hurricanes, etc.) the WWG is not for you.
- If you're looking to join a coven, the WWG is not for you (we are not a coven, I do not lead a coven, I am not a High Priestess).

How much does the WWG cost?
It’s free technically, though we ask for a small one-time contribution from members-- suggested amount for the year is $25. If you can afford to send more, awesome. If you can afford less, that’s fine. If you can’t afford anything, don’t worry about it.

It costs over $600 per year for the Go To Meeting software and prizes for some fun events we hold on a regular basis, book lending, etc.

The contribution is non-refundable, even if you leave the group (by choice or if booted for being disruptive, something we do rarely and only when necessary).

No other money/donations/fees will be requested beyond that. Use of the group budget is at my discretion, though I do not financially profit from Grove.

What do I need?
There are 4 books that are 'required reading' for the year. You can get them anywhere you like (amazon, used book shops, library if you're lucky). Occasionally for those who can't get the books for some reason I try to loan them out through mail and ask that you send them back when done.

No ritual supplies or tools are required though if you can make them/get them, feel free to use them in your Grove exercises.

Why can’t you take minors?
Because it would be illegal without parental consent, and it’s too difficult to determine online if I’m getting the appropriate parental consent. I do not want to put myself in a position of being sued by an angry parent, so please do not misrepresent your age if you are a minor. If we do find out you lied about your age and are under 18, you will be dismissed from the WWG.
