CHICAGO—A study published this week in the journal Pediatrics found that, within seconds of their birth, babies have the ability to sense whether their parents are losers.

No actually an artifact from the daily median they use to ensure the best possible real time image. :P Not bad tho, you got the photoshop plug in in under 45 minutes. :)

Water, water everywhere

Do you know why liquids are my favorite subject to shoot? Because I can never be sure what exactly I'll get when pressing a shutter release. At best, I can predict...
Comparing to the rest of studio photography, working with liquids probably is the most challenging, as there is no WYSWYG thing here. When aiming for a particular shape, I may shoot hundreds and hundreds shots till I get something which will work.
But still, I love it. It is like digging cave in search for gemstones: you can never be sure what you'll get next time, and there is so much of excitement when you got something spectacular!

Enjoy, the liquids: how I see them through the camera:-)

Great white sharks breach as they attack seals off just off of Seal Island (near False Bay, South Africa). In 4 days, I had exactly one big breach like this. I'm glad I didn't blink! :)

I headed out on the ocean again in a few days—I'll be going to Indonesia to photograph weird muck critters and healthy coral reefs. This picture isn't really related, but it's one of my favorites. I print this particular sequence on brushed aluminum, which creates a fantastic texture in the skin of the shark.
