That's about as far as I'm taking this until I get a paintover on it in a week or two, will take any critiques for that time. I used reference loosely, but need a lot more anatomy and portrait, and light source practice to translate it to imaginary work (short of flat out copying the reference.)

#Critique 1. I realized I was doing to much on the female fantasy character, and got rid of 90% to focus on the assignment requirements of two types of cloth, metal, and leather, disregarding storytelling and symbolism, and function. Perhaps I was trying to "masterpiece" without skill, and the requirements were not jiving with the idea. 2. Rework of a photo study. 3. WIP Working on the Sargent study as a "burnout" painting.

Block in for an assignment, I don't know about the outfit, but it has to have leather, metal, and two types of fabric. Ready to use ref without feeling like I'm copying. Any critiques or pointers before I start the long part?

Morning studies, and the long piece I'm working on. I took the female face to the point of the male (but it didn't look as good.), but didn't save, accidentally hit "no" on "do you want to save before closing." I'd rather hit myself with a hammer than do it again. I put a line layer on top to do the medals, after getting the base, they kept throwing me off.

Female greyscale speed study after gesture, on to the long copying and tutorials, I'll try to incorporate it into something imaginary for the month. 2. 2-3 hr male grey study, 3. Wrapping up this Sargent, while doing a male one not ready for posting yet.

Daily study after gesture warm up. On to the long master studies and tutorials, aka "pushing my capacity for boredom" and work towards the years it takes to be able to finish a piece in a humane amount of time.

1. 2-3 hours greyscale, I intended it to be a 1 hr speedpaint, and didn't set my timer, next thing I know it was a couple hours. 2. Almost done w/ this Sargent, I think mainly I'll fix the eye I pushed out of place when pulling it out and pull out the edges, before calling it quits, then focus on the male Sargent study I should have waited to start until this one was finished.

1 hr speedpaint in greyscale, mainly trying for form and edges. WIP Sargent, I measured with my stylus and looked at the angles and negative spaces, definitely off, IDK if I'll transform it into place or just keep painting, starting to struggle with "that final stage." Lost about an hour due to a crash, everything's coming out crappy, gonna look for some critiques while I work on something else and come back to it tomorrow.
