Probably many of you have heard about postsecret.com, which started out as a small-scale project to collect individual's secrets, anonymously, and went viral. A 2005 Smithie* named Anne has started......

18in18 is officially here!

18 days of 18 life-changing lessons from the Tao te Ching by Lao Tsu. For $9, every morning, you get (1) a powerful quote from the Tao te Ching, (2) a hand-crafted lesson and explanation on the quote, (3), an affirmation and journal-prompt to encourage you to write your own thoughts and apply the lesson to your life that day.

At the end of 18 days, you get a gorgeous workbook of all 18-days worth of quotes/lessons/prompts.

Video + free sample workbook download at http://18in18.com/ :)

Had a nice leisurely 4.2ish mile run tonight with some friends. Was supposed to be a rest day, but was tempted to run!

Story
Introduction
I'm a father of two wonderful daughters, lover of life, community-oriented, enlightenment-seeking 40-something Yogi and runner. I love my work, my community, and the simple life. I love to read (mostly non-fiction). I live in a 448 sq foot house with no TV, by choice.

This is my second vehicle at Gates. My experience has been world class since I first walked through the door. I have known several of the staff personally or professionally since before becoming a customer, and I've come to know several others since. Each of the staff members that I've known are of the highest caliber. I strongly recommend this dealership. [Update] I've just received my third vehicle from Gates (lease) and continue to have a great experience.

Best bagels in the area, hands down. I eat there frequently. Give yourself extra time on the weekend as there often is a long line. I subtracted one star, as I think their order-taking process could be improved.

One of eastern CT's most underrated and underutilized venues. This stadium is a local treasure for a number of reasons. Beyond the aesthetics, which are quite pleasing, the parking is convenient, the prices low, and there's not a bad seat in the place. If you like baseball, or a hot dog/beer on a warm night, this is the place for you to visit. It's a very family friendly atmosphere and feels very safe. Law enforcement is always present and visible for games. I recommend you visit and take in a game.

I live and work in the area, and I eat out quite a bit, especially for lunch. I'm very picky about where I eat: I prefer a "Mom & Pop" operated restaurant with the food preparation visible. NEP is exactly that place, and it's my favorite lunch spot. The food is extremely consistent, well-prepared and fairly priced. A husband, wife, and son cook the food and wait the tables (with an additional staff member in the evenings and lunch on Friday). I highly recommend this restaurant. Be forewarned, the food is prepared fresh, so you may need to allocate a few extra minutes to your lunch.

We visited at Noon on a Sunday. Although there was just one family in front of us, and we were seated quickly, it took a solid hour to be served our food (breakfast for 4). The food was good, but certainly not worth the wait. The apparent owner came out and apologized several times for her inept wait staff, but she didn't appear to be able to improve their performance. The owner seemed like a very nice person, and--for her sake--I hope she can find better wait staff.
