"Why do I create" - The answer ultimately lies in my need for connection with others.  Through my work, I seek to waken a curiosity about what it stands for, where the color comes from, the marks, the medium, the surface.  Through my artistic endeavors, I create work to fulfill the yearning for engagement with others.  I do not see myself as a singular being on this planet.  I see myself as a tiny part that desires attachment through this creative means - that which I personally find provocative, likeable, disagreeable, disruptive, mysterious - whatever the descriptor - I want my work to lead to engagement with you.

Hello from Walla Walla, WA where my studio is filled with painted panels of hot beeswax creations.  Since 2011, my specific medium of choice has been encaustic.  I've exhibited locally and have hosted 5 Solo Exhibits since '11.  I've also been accepted occasionally in national juried  events and group shows.  Well received, sales, praise, etc. but now I feel my client/audience is spent - they still show interest in my work via positive conversation and encouragement but local traffic will only bear a certain number of sales and price points.  My goal is to achieve gallery representation and the questions I have for myself through Xanadu and Jason's lessons are specifically - am I "really" gallery ready, do I have the production/quality required to be a gallery participant? Looking forward to exploring art and its role in our lives with all of you.
