And thusly do shifts, shift. The not inconsequential city of Los Angeles makes a statement against corporate personhood. It is like it is 120 years ago.

Great memo on writing drama from David Mamet to the writers of "The Unit" before it went under. http://www.movieline.com/2010/03/david-mamets-memo-to-the-writers-of-the-unit.php
CBS's drama The Unit, about the lives of the highly trained members of a top-secret military division, was canceled last year, but a memo to its writing staff from its executive producer David Mamet h...

This is amazingly awesome! I always wear a jacket when traveling to carry things. This guys is making jackets and vest to replace carryon luggage! Best part? Coats are not subject to the same rules by the airlines and TSA. Well played Scott.

One final bit of BoingBoing badassery: Our +Xeni Jardin managed to track down the folks responsible for last night's Occupy Wall Street bat signal within hours of the projections appearing on New York City's Verizon building. She's got a great interview with the signal creators. Among other things, you'll learn about the cool single mom who agreed to let strangers project the signal from her living room! http://boingboing.net/2011/11/17/interview-with-the-occupy-wall.html

I started watching "The Captains" this eve written and directed by William Shatner. I thought that I would turn it off. Some light piece to end the evening with. But what and extraordinary piece to watch. Definitely the hubris of the Shatner, but what an interesting extraction of the story of building a thing. The sacrifice of entrepreneurship, and of working an idea. The self belittlement, and doubt, an underscored hate and love of the outcome. Each Captain adding their own story. Each so different and similar.

For me? Like watching Ghost Dog. Such small expectations and such and amazing delivery. Wow. The link to netflix, damaged.

Ghost Dog is a movie I recommend all the time. The feel of that movie, I can't fully explain. The Rizza's scoring is perfect.
