Shoot with youtube sensation Jim Chapman / everydayjim

(Original blog postat - http://prettyraw.co.uk/2014/10/13/shoot-with-youtube-sensation-jim-chapman-everydayjim

A few weeks ago I worked with a serious vlogger (video blogger if, like me 4 weeks ago, you have no idea what this means!!)

His name is Jim Chapman and between himself, his iconic make up artist sisters pixiwoo and girlfriend Tanya Burr they are a youtube power-family!

Its easy to see why Jim is so followed, he is a genuine and lovely guy, his character didn’t change from when we was chatting in the make up chair to when he was recording short behind the scenes videos for his vlog  because his personality isn’t forced.

I have worked with lots of presenters who go into character when they step in front of the camera, Jim is just being Jim and a lovely guy he is!

Here is his video from the day of our shoot http://youtu.be/LxuVv_0IwIM?list=UU4R3_LXX1I6SO6SlUYEWYtg

Photography Joseph Sinclair

Styling Callum Vincent

and the other furry model is Stewie the dog!!

Hes a handsome chap and (sorry for this cliché sentence but the camera did love him!

Jim got the Pretty Raw natural treatment; I used Antipodes skincare, a little concealer and powder from Couleur caramel to control shine in front of the camera and I blowdried and styled his hair using John Masters Organics hair products.

It was fortuitous for me to meet Jim- I have had a horrible fear of public speaking and camera-shyness for such a long time I cant remember when it began!

I find more and more in this age of social media that lots of the stuff I do now has crews of people filming behind-the-scenes and several times I’ve had to give little interviews etc. ]

When a camera is on me this happens, I fall apart, die inside and make these weird Chandler from friends photo-expressions

My job like so many has become one where being able to present will propel your message.

With Pretty Raw I have a message behind what I do trying to educate people of the unnecessary toxicity of many beauty products as well as pioneering more natural skincare and cosmetics.

I don’t condemn any brands that are taking measures to green up their act even if they aren’t there yet I will still champion them.

Transparency in ingredients and sustainability in manufacturing has to be the future!

Inspired by Jim’s naturalness in front of camera I set up a little Youtube account.

I had never taken any interest in Youtube before this and now I love it! There are so many different viewpoints than standard censored television. A wealth of knowledge and entertainment.

Jim’s page is really fun as is all of camp Chapman and I am subscribed!

Right now I am using youtube to document my ‘100 days of healing’ this is a personal life and body detox I am doing for my own health and anyone else who is interested in taking on their own health turn around.

I will also be posting green-beauty bits on there to so tune in!

I haven’t plugged this as such till now. I am not over my camera fear, far from, but every video I film I stop feeling self conscious a little bit more! I have learnt a lot and its really helped me so thank you Jim and all success to you!
