Meteorologist Justin Mosely is a member of the WPBF 25 First Alert Weather Team. He began his broadcasting career as meteorologist intern right here at WPBF 25 with severe weather expert Mike Lyons. A native of South Florida, Justin was born on the Treasure Coast in Vero Beach, where most of his family still lives today.
Justin’s true passion is tropical meteorology, and he has experienced many times the fury that hurricanes have to offer. Having tracked storms like Erin and Irene in the ‘90s to the devastating hurricane seasons that brought Frances, Jeanne and Wilma, he’s been through them all. While he loves the science of meteorology, it is his concern and commitment to the safety of the local community that truly drives his career.
For more than eight years, Justin served as chief meteorologist on Florida’s west coast at SNN-TV in Sarasota. Justin has also worked with the National Weather Service office in Melbourne, where he authored and co-authored research papers on tropical meteorology, in addition to producing weather shows at WFTV, the ABC station in Orlando.
Certified by the American Meteorological Society, Justin holds a degree in broadcast meteorology. In his spare time he enjoys tennis, swimming and just about anything outdoors that the beautiful South Florida landscape has to offer!
