The tour covers all aspects of the history of Castletown House, from 1722, when it was built, right up to the present day and the recent work which has been undertaken.  The diverse and fascinating Conolly family members who lived in the house are explained, and visitors get a chance to view the fine architecture, original furniture and vast collection of paintings within Castletown.

Castletown House is available for school tours and private groups throughout the year, advanced booking is essential.

Excellent place to go for a stroll any time of the year. There is a cafe there that serves some basic dinners. Entrance via M4 celbridge interchange. Tour is also supposed to be decent

Just love the place. See it on a misty morning as the sun bursts through slowly, the grounds and house look amazing. Its heaven for anyone who has a dog. Most dog owners you meet are really sound, you will meet the odd funny bugger. They will pull out the mobile phone, and talk to no one, just to avoid you. Anyway i love the place. Met so many luvly people at castletown. Dog Wonderland.

Great place for a walk, with the park and river and the view of the castle. Loved it very quiet and free of course, lot of families there, and people with dogs.

Beautiful place for a walk, grounds are kept very nice and free in, the house tour is free sometimes and it's pretty interesting but it's really the grounds that make this place.
