I passed by Occupy Amsterdam on their first day of protest and was inspired to take portraits of the people with signs. This is one of my favourites.

Night is falling on Syntagma Square in Athens. I took this photo almost 2 years ago and I don't think anyone could have imagined the difficult times ahead for this small but oh so beautiful country...

Every year Amsterdam celebrates the traditional Hartjesdagen (Days of the Heart) with a lot of humor, cross dressing and fun on the Zeedijk.

You get to see quite a few strange, crazy, surprising things when living or visiting this city, but this probably tops them all. Last summer I bumped into a group of about 20 people dressed as zombies, covered in 'blood', walking around Leidseplein, Amsterdam, just for fun!

This is Skatin Chinchilla, a street artist I caught in action by chance in Zeeburg, Amsterdam. I was quite lucky to have my camera with me that lazy Sunday afternoon. He agreed to be photographed and interviewed for a column I contribute to in Time OUt Amsterdam.
