Queen Victoria's wedding cornet could leave the UK unless a British buyer is found. An unnamed owner was attempting to sell the saphire and diamond coronet, but the UK Government has put a temporary block on the sale because of it's importance to the country. The world's largest sapphire, named The Star Of India, weighs 563-carats and is roughly the size of a golf ball. It is believed to be around 2 billion years old.

On Halloween eve in 1964, it was stolen in a heist at the Museum of Natural History, only to be found a few days later in a Miami bus terminal locker. Today, it's safe in the American Museum of Natural History.
