I stayed here for six nights in December and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. I've stayed in about 5 different hotels in downtown San Francisco and this was the first one I've experienced with a genuinely quiet room, without all the noise of sirens from the street. If you're a light sleeper like me, be sure to ask for a room facing the inner courtyard. The hotel oozes quality and is staffed with friendly, polite employees. Decor is beautiful, celebrating its vintage rather than trying to hide it with modern design, something I appreciated very much. For once I remembered to pack my gym kit, so got to make use of the facilities, including the pool. All excellent, and if you're a swimmer the glass roof is a treat, especially at sunrise as the skyscrapers surrounding the hotel are lit up. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to rebook this hotel. Highly recommended.

My Niece had her wedding reception here in June 2014. My only complaint would be that we were told that as the parents of the bride we would not have to pay for parking. This was not honored and to make it worse the parking attendants response was pretty rude and said "no free parking here" and offered no help when asked to look into it for me. There is not a chance that we will be spending our money with them ever again.

My favorite hotel in the City. I love the high ceilings with crown moldings, the large bathrooms, the soft sheets and hard pillows. A great location to walk to restaurants or the theater. I'm not a shopper but that's close by. The staff everywhere from valet to housekeeper are cordial and helpful. I love the old world feel with modern amenities. And then the atrium for a meal. Well, what else is there to say.

I felt a little more sophisticated just by walking into this grand 'ole hotel. The place is a historic landmark, and it certainly feels like it. Beyond the ambiance, both the rooms and the meeting spaces are modern and tasteful. Great place to stay downtown, especially if you can score any sort of room discounts!

Decent hotel with historic feel if that is what you are looking for. With historic you get small as in rooms. Not sure this one is worth the money.
