It's not the best children's museum my family had been to. However the outdoor space and the cabin are a unique touch and the price is cheap. So all in all its a decent place to take your kids for a couple hours.

We have 3 Kids 6 and under. We have solutely don't miss the children's museum in Madison when we come. We go to Children's Museums all over the Midwest. Madison is different. the part we love the best is the Rooftop Green Space.

This place is awful, what an absolute bore!! The most interesting, hands-on thing here is Lincoln logs. I can't believe they charge an adult to enter, I've seen playgrounds with more things to do. 2 adults and 2 children: 20 minutes to go through. 1 star only because zero isn't an option.

Hello! I'm sorry you didn't have a great visit at MCM. All of our exhibits and spaces were designed in house, with guidance from childhood learning experts, to create a space that is about discovery learning and play. That's why there aren't a lot of signs and directions telling visitors what to do. Our space allows children and their adults to be really creative. We don't want to limit their imaginations so our spaces are very open, where anything is possible.

Well-designed place for kids to play and learn. Fantastic programs to take advantage of if you plan ahead and check their schedules.

I feel that is run down, not to mention American Girl Doll gives the museum around a million dollars. A little more dedication to America Girl Doll, than three dolls would be nice. The museum could put the money towards fixing it up. I understand it is a children's museum but some more things for 8-13 would be cool.

Hi Bre, Thanks for visiting! We have a very dedicated exhibits staff that work hard to ensure that the exhibits are not broken, damaged or dirty. If you did spot something that wasn't up to par, please let one of our staff at the front desk know so it can be fixed right away! The American Girl Benefit Sale raises close to a million dollars each year. Only a portion of that money goes to the museum, with the rest being distributed to children's organizations throughout Dane County through the American Girl Fund for Children. Our exhibits are designed for children up to age 12. Some things look very simple at first glance, but they offer a great opportunity for thinking outside the box and creative play, even for older visitors.

Great museum. A little pricey, but lots of fun. Be sure to check out the rooftop garden and see the chickens and the pigeon coop.

Such a wonderful place to take the kids. We had a group from under 2 all the way up to 13 and there was at least something for everyone.
