Lacking in taste. I have only eaten there once and had a monster burrito but the taste was lacking the Mexican taste.

It is almost worth eating here to see just how bad Mexican food can be. I ordered two chile rellenos and was handed a plate of ground beef and some unrecognizable cheese boiling in grease. No poblano, pasilla, Anaheim or even bell pepper in the dish. El Campesino's staff has convinced unknowing locals that whatever it is that they serve is Mexican "food." The manager explained to me that this is what his customers wanted instead of battered, stuffed peppers. I guess I can only ask how would they know if your food is what they think of as Mexican?
