The Quote of the Decade:

*"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America 's debt limit
is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot
pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial
assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless
fiscal policies. Increasing America 's debt weakens us domestically and
internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' Instead,
Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of
our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of
leadership. Americans deserve better."*

Advice for Mr. Romney.

Don't let Obama get away with anything. Remind us about Solyndra; about the fact that we have enormous coal reserves yet are putting coal miners out of work; that we have perhaps the world's largest oil reserves, and yet gasoline prices have doubled; and the energy that would liberate us from the Middle East is not getting "fracked" or piped in from Canada. Remind him of the deficit he so wants us to forget about, and what deficits can do to a country as we see in Greece and Spain. Call him on his lies, fumbles, and grandiloquent promises. Don't let him forget "you didn't build that," or "bumps in the road." Don't let him forget his promise to cut the deficit in half and his assertion that if he couldn't fix the economy his presidency should be a "one term proposition." Never forget the millions of unemployed, the ballooning food stamp rolls, the small businesses groaning under mounting regulation and cost, and the new wave of home foreclosures about to break .

In A Grand Sweeping Gesture... Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe CA
Sometimes a moment changes everything.
------------------------------------------------------------
This is one of those images I almost tossed.
It would have been perfect if I could levitate about a 1000 yards to my left so I was shooting this in a graceful, open-air hover straight up the lake into that illustrative sunset. That was how I REALLY saw this shot. I take alot of photos like that from inside my mind... hovering at JUST the right angle in mid air. BOOM! Dream shot accomplished.

But alas, my self-hover mode is still at the manufacturer's and I had to settle for this sorta sideways angle. It bugged. Still does. I don't like to settle. But I'm trying to learn to be flexible so I can wave in the breeze and not break... kind of like those clouds there. Or like water... sometimes I say to myself: "Self... beeeeeee the water, flow around obstacles, but keep moving." Because I've noticed that when you do that, the landscape will shift around you in surprising and delightful ways.

Just a few of the thoughts that go with this photo that I almost tossed. Perhaps time will tell me that I should have, but that's OK and not even the point...  this is just me being the water.

Right-to-carry laws reduce the number of people killed or wounded from multiple victim public
shootings as many attackers are either deterred from attacking or when attacks do occur they are
stopped before the police can arrive. We are able to provide evidence for the first time that the harm
from crimes that still occur can be mitigated. Given that half the attackers in these multiple victim
public shootings have had formal diagnoses of mental illness, the fact that some results indicate
concealed handgun laws reduce these attacks by almost 70 percent is remarkable.  Go and read the study...

Coverups always start small and usually over something that if approached honestly at first would be forgiven and forgotten.. but lies fester and then the truth becomes poison to those that have lied and lied again and again.

Sec of Defense basically said the same thing in so many words.  We can't send men in until we know the whole picture.  What kind of crap is that?

There are very few that escape the corruption of the proximity to DC virus. Closeness to the center of government equals power and power corrupts all but a few. From the top down the US Government is 99% corrupt and it will do anything to hold on to the power it has stolen for itself. In simple terms 99% of the US Government is evil and will never willingly relinquish it's power back to the people of the United State of America. Our republic has been hijacked and it is time to restore it to the people. Whatever it takes the corrupt must go and the Republic restored.

I have a theory. If you handcuffed Nancy Pelosi's hands behind her back she would not be able to speak. Wouldn't that be refreshing.
