We thought this was an interesting article. Basically suggesting that too many sales managers focus on the bottom 20% of salespeople, who are often hiring mistakes. Instead they should be pushing the middle 60% into the top 20% so the bottom 20% is mitigated in a way that actually skews the bell curve towards sales performance improvements.
