Awesome, amazing dive bar. Drinks are superior and worth the price tag...although waking up this morning, my pockets were hurting!

The Roger Room is, was, and probably will remain the basis upon which most of these Johnny-come-lately mixology bars have stolen not only their menus, but also staff. I have been coming to this bar and this building for years, dating back to when it was called The Coronet Pub. Considering The Roger Room is supposed to be a speakeasy, I suppose its location is only fitting. Planted across the street from a seedy strip club and along the main drag for ambulances wailing their way back to Cedar Sinai, there's always something to draw your attention as you smoke your cancer stick. There's also the Largo Theater next door that low key draws some big names an often an eclectic crowd of nerd chics and fanboy obsessives. The Roger Room is not as illustrious as it once was (there was a no flash photography rule if that's any indicator of the clientele), but now it's mostly tourists from the Sofitel, off-duty strippers from across the street, and early-term couples. I still come from time-to-time. If there's one thing that has not changed about the place, it's the quality of cocktail. I definitely recommend, just don't deusch it up.

Okay so you're standing outside a Psychic tarot card business, but there's a valet stand for the card reader. That just doesn't seem right, even for a swanky Beverly Hills tarot reader. So it only makes sense that the tarot card place is actually a front for a speakeasy bar with inventive drinks, and an upscale, professional clientele. I think the best thing about the Roger Room is the hello kitty foam which they burn onto the Japanese Maple cocktail. It's a cool bar, but kinda expensive and can get crowded. Still, apparently Hello Kitty and actors/bartenders is worth it for a lot of people.

The location is great but one of the servers gave himself a tip for the amount that I spent at the roger room maybe thinking I wouldn't notice. If you go there double check the amount you spent the next day.
