Are you an author looking for assistance navigating the digital age? Everywhere you turn you see eBook, Social Media, Smart Distribution, Self-Publishing, Digital Publishing, Blogging... what ever happened to the old way of getting your book published? It is disappearing.

Help is here!

The Northwest Bookfest, now in its third year in Kirkland, will be Nov. 2-3, 2013. This year, the popular literary festival will be at Northwest University, south of downtown Kirkland.

The focus is on the benefits and challenges of digital publishing. Northwest Bookfest brings readers, writers, publishers, authors and book lovers together with workshops, panels, and readings.

For $99, participants can attend two days of workshops, taught by established writers and trade professionals, on topics ranging from e-books and digital distribution to social networking and online marketing.

For those who love books but do not want to attend workshops, there will be several free meet-the-author panels and author readings. Guest speakers will be announced soon.

Northwest University is located at 5520 108th Avenue, Kirkland, with free onsite parking. Northwest University is easily accessible from routes 520 and 405, and its central location, close to downtown and Carillon Point, provides plenty of dining and shopping options for Bookfest attendees.

On Saturday evening, Nov. 2, several Kirkland restaurants and wine shops will team with writers for author presentations called “Wine and Words.” Attendees may enjoy appetizers and drinks while listening to authors and panel discussions. This was one of the most popular features of past Bookfests with sell-out crowds at some venues.
