Radioactive Decay of Candium

+Olivet Nazarene University Geochemistry students learned about the radioactive decay of candium in class this week.  They were given a pile of M&Ms, counted them, shook them up & poured them out on a piece of white paper.  Those with showing a letter M were removed; those that fell M side down were counted, put back in the bag.  The process was repeated until all M&Ms were removed.  The plot of M&Ms vs. turns shows a logarithmic decay curve, demonstrating how radioactive elements decay over time.  Tasty lab!
