"Thus architectural critics and architects in general are well trained to manage spaces, dimensions and materials, but have a scarce — if not inexistent — vocabulary to refer to change, complexity and contingency."

We're very proud of being part of the current issue of Viceversa, edited byDavide Tommaso Ferrando, this time about 'Critiques of Architecture.' Here the link to our essay [with Cesar Reyes] 'All of the Ants Left Paris.'

C U S T O D I A N S of the world unite and take over!
in praise of open knowledge.
"We find ourselves at a decisive moment. This is the time to recognize that the very existence of our massive knowledge commons is an act of collective civil disobedience. It is the time to emerge from hiding and put our names behind this act of resistance. You may feel isolated, but there are many of us.

"Our turn now. To turn down the pencil, and shut down the screen. To smell the letters and lick the words. To print pleas and share revolts. The story of architects playing the alchemy of the words. We want to explore how architecture melts in the intersection with politics, technology, economy and social demur. We oppose to individualism, consumerism and accumulation. We propose to change the limited metrics of architecture—sqm, budgets, investments—and pose human relations in the center of our debates. We propose complexities: to use poetry, empathy, enthusiasm as new metrics to understand the nature of our cities. We propose to blatantly update our current architectural standards and transform them into stories. And build intangible architectures of nature-grids, time sequences and memories, myths and symbols anew."
