I have never been a fan of QR codes. American mobile OSs do not provide enough native support to make it quick and easy.

When Apple finally agrees to get behind NFC technology mobile payments and information exchange (contact info, playlists, directions, docs) will be much easier.

I agree. We fielded a QR-based "business card" contact swapping application a couple years ago.  Lack of native support for scanning QR codes made it a non-starter.  Come on, Google, Apple, build it into the camera already!  +Larry Page are you listening?
