Here's an initial look at the Dorian-rebase of Salience, as of revision 202. It already looks interesting, but you can see some inconsistencies and some incomplete-looking parts (especially GTK+2 widgets, the GTK+3 toolbar, and some colors). Look for these to be cleaned up in preparation for the 2.0 release.

...in case anyone didn't get it, that last post was on April 1st.

We are considering the possibility of basing Salience off of another GTK+3.6 theme instead of Selene for the 2.0 release.

The placeholder images (ugly as they may be) are now in place for 2.0's checkboxes and radio buttons! Better images to come a bit later.

It's a bit rough yet, but work has started to use SVG images for the checkboxes and radio buttons in Salience 2.0. This should give us better control for nicer-looking and more consistent checkboxes and radio buttons. Anybody who has already been using the theme from trunk should now be able to tell checked and unchecked boxes apart. :)

Note: These are merely placeholder images, and they're not supposed to look cut off like shown below. This is merely getting the code prepared for the final images we will be using, and what you see below is not representative of what this portion of the theme will look like once completed.

A couple more Salience 2.0 fixes: rounding on spinbuttons and switches, and thinner separators. Not perfect, but much better than before.

Also (not pictured): no more overlapping transparent tabs!

Work is underway to rebase Salience off of the Dorian theme for the 2.0 release. Mostly this involves just changing some colors and the style of certain parts of the UI, though we do like the overall look. :)

If you want to try it out for yourself or follow these changes more closely, check out the salience-dorian-rebase code branch at Launchpad. Please note again that this is still under heavy modification and is not considered stable!

We have decided upon the new GTK+3 theme that Salience 2.0 will be based on!

We selected PenOSmaster GTK3 for its retro look, and (most importantly) the fact that it's purple. :)

The clipping on checkboxes in 2.0 has just been fixed. I was getting tired of it and the fix was actually quite simple.

Hopefully more checkbox/radio button dev work can continue within a day or two.

Decreased 2.0's scale trough width in r180. Still not pixel-perfect, but certainly much more pleasing to look at than the chunky troughs we experienced when initially moving to GTK+3.6.

Salience is a GTK+/Metacity theme meant to go with FS Icons Ubuntu!
Introduction
Salience is part of the LumiNight desktop theming project, and aims to provide an attractive, bold, and consistent theme which fits in with both Ubuntu and the FS Icons Ubuntu icon theme.

Salience provides both a GTK+2 and GTK+3 theme, as well as a matching Metacity theme. Currently only an all-dark theme is provided, but other variants are planned. Please see our Launchpad page for installation instructions, to report bugs, or to help contribute to the project!

The current stable release is Salience 1.0.
