Hi, I see there are a few familiar names already in this community. I am from Cincinnati. My families were early settlers of the Miami River Valley (SW Ohio) including Cincinnati. I look forward to the discussions. Wish I had been here in April for the Symmes Purchase question ... next time!

I just started using "A Novel Idea" Pro iPad app for my project. The app is geared toward fiction writing but works well for narrative history as well. There is a review at http://goo.gl/pt2CX.

Today I wrote the setting description for my 4 generation narrative genealogy. Wow! It really made me aware of 'scenes' that are 'must haves' for readers to understand the time and place. Writing prompts in hand for the next few days!

Thank you for the invitation Lynn. This is such a great idea! I've thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog and trying to apply your advice to my writing. I look forward to learning from this community.

Mike Brubaker has spun a great short fiction inspired by the photo. I positively love his short fiction pieces.

This week's Sepia Saturday features one of my very favorite pictures of Jim, Tish and Mira Stratton. I've seen that twinkle in Pa's eyes so many times and just know that there is more to the story!
