Got Stuff? George Carlin Says You Need An Estate Plan!
George Carlin would have been a great pitchman for estate planning. You may remember his stand-up routine on “stuff.” We all have stuff, and we’re pretty particular about our stuff. We move it around with us, it’s hard for some of us to get rid of it, and some of us don’t like our stuff mixed up with other people’s stuff. So if you got stuff you need an estate plan!
During your lifetime, you collect a lot of stuff, some of it valuable and some of it not. But because it’s your stuff, it means something to you. You already know you can’t take it with you when you die, so there has to be some way of distributing your stuff to other people... .

John Rogers Burk with his long time friend, Douglas MacFarlane, AAMS, CPWA. Doug is the able Chairman of the Sutter Roseville Medical Center Foundation’s Planned Giving Committee. Roger is the Chairman of the South Placer Professional Roundtable. The Roundtable is hosted quarterly by the Sutter Roseville Medical Center Foundation. It is held on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 A.M. on the second floor of the Sutter Roseville Medical Center. Pictured are Pat Brady, CEO of Sutter Roseville Medical Center, and John Rogers Burk, Estate Planning Attorney and Chairman of the South Placer Professional Roundtable. The SPP Roundtable held its 83rd quarterly session on the morning of July 15, 2015. Pat Brady spoke on, "Healthcare Challenges and Opportunities: After the Affordable Care Act." There were forty-three in attendance, including attorneys, financial advisors, CPA's and others in the financial services industry. Pat gave an excellent overview of the Affordable Care Act and its effects and predicted consequences, as well as its benefits. He also discussed how the Act is being received by the Healthcare Industry, the Health Insurance Industry, and the population in general.
