Drugs destroy lives and families. Not only do they do your body damage, occasionally death, they can change you physical appearance. Your face can change beyond recognition. So we have created a new postcard called 'THE REAL FACE OF DRUGS' showing a visual effect by means of before and after photographs.

A NEW testimonial from Police Scotland about our DRUG AWARENESS CARDS - On Saturday 1st April 2017, we hosted our Choices for Life event at East Kilbride Shopping Centre, in partnership with NHS Lanarkshire and Cumbernauld PSYV. The event was a huge success. This was the launch of our new DRUGS – KNOW YOUR SMELLS scratch & sniff card and they went down a storm. Since then, I've had numerous people contacting me, regarding the cards, as the word has got around.
Over the 3 hours, that we were there, we estimate that we spoke to over 500 members of the public (predominately young people and parents), raising awareness of substance misuse and internet safety, whilst promoting the Choices for Life message.
The drugs/NPS scratch and sniff cards were really well received and will be a fantastic resource for Safer Communities Officers to use and continue to promote the Choices for Life message.
I can honestly say, the targets we set have been surpassed. Our intention is not only to educate and prevent people from taking substances, but to signpost those, who are unfortunately taking them, to partner agencies, who can get them back on a more positive pathway. The cards deliver that message to, not only the 11-18 year olds we are targeting, but the parents who are now coming forward seeking help.
The cards have gone down a storm and the NHS representative was well impressed with the quality and design.

The awareness of smoking and the effect it has on sexual health has been highlighted in an anti-smoking campaign we produced on behalf of Quit51. This interactive card includes a heat and reveal panel that is activated when touched with the hand revealing a message. Mainly aimed at an audience of older teenagers, it warns of the potential consequences smoking has in a relationship. Using thermochromic ink, the message is covered in black which becomes transparent when touched and reverts back to black again at ambient temperature.

Working closely with our client Quit51, we have produced an anti-smoking campaign using a heat and reveal card with a design concept originally created by a group of young people. The aim of this campaign is for young people NOT to bow to mentor or peer pressure and start smoking. Part of the message is covered by a black thermochromic ink that, when touched, becomes temporarily transparent, so is therefore interactive for the reader, then the ink reverts back to black, so the message is hidden again.

For Gas Safety Week in the UK, we have successfully delivered a variety of campaigns to housing groups with scratch & sniff cards containing the pungent smell of natural gas. These cards not only have the gas smell but also what to do in the case of a gas emergency. This card is being distributed in many different ways including being left by gas engineers when gas appliances are having their annual service check. All well received.

Some police forces have asked us to design a second DRUGS - KNOW YOUR SMELLS depicting a harder hitting image and message for a different audience. This card still contains associated smells of cannabis weed, cannabis resin but also the consequence of taking mephedrone and amphetamine and what smells the body emits in the form of odour and sweat and how it contaminates clothing, very off-putting fragrance. In addition we have updated the legal status of NPS, what used to be called 'legal highs'.

Another successful and busy 3 days including the weekend, at the Fairmont Hotel in Fife, exhibiting our drugs scratch and sniff cards, NPS illegal highs scratch cards, anti-smoking cards and our natural gas scratch & sniff cards to Scottish Housing Resident Groups making up some 380 delegates. Many delegates, housing groups and councils interested and contacts established.
With 706 recorded drug related deaths in Scotland, in 2015, and an estimated 61,500 problem drug users, puts a huge strain on resources such as the Scottish Ambulance Service recording 5,468 emergency call outs that were drug related.

Well another gas prevention and awareness initiative well received and produced on behalf of Northern Gas Networks, this time in the shape of an interactive pop up card containing the smell of natural gas. The young people at primary schools are invited to scratch and sniff the gas smell and must match 6 peel off stickers to the relevant functions of do’s and don’ts if a gas leak is suspected.

‘Scratch and sniff’ card could help in fight against drug abuse. Our 'DRUGS - KNOW YOUR SMELLS' campaign was congratulated by SNP MP for North East Fife Stephen Gethins and the area’s MSP, Roderick Campbell with Police Scotland. This is in addition to our NPS 'legal highs' campaign.
