Please save yourself the trouble (and the $12) of bothering with the so-claimed "authentic" Boston Creme Pie. Sure, this place may have invented it, but the modern version was a pre-made dry cake. There was no cream involved, and this certainly was not a pie. The only cream in the dessert was whipped cream on the side. It reminded me of the same small pre-made cakes you find at Chinese buffets. It was a layered vanilla cake, with one layer of frosting in the center. It looks phenomenal! Until you stick your fork in it and watch all its parts crumble. The top looks like a delectable creamy chocolate topping, but nope, just a dried-out hard chocolate topper. I originally tried it as recommended on Spoon University's top 50 foods to try in Boston. This was the first and only candidate to leave me disappointed.

Come here for brunch with co-workers annually. Very good food and atmosphere. If you get a chance try the Boston Creme (they are the ones that started it) it is fantastic.

Great breakfast and desserts, but somewhat pricey.

A grand dining room which is seemingly from a different era. The menu is solid and is obviously not shooting for innovative. Our first plates were very good - a delicious crab cake and a surprisingly good French onion soup. Our second plates - the scrod and salmon were good but were not spectacular. Because it invented it, we had the Boston cream pie to share, which was lovely. All in all, I thought the food was perhaps not quite up to the room

Love this place. The cocktails alone would keep me coming back, but today I had dinner there and it was amazing. They had a spareribs special, and the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender. On top of that, it was accompanied by kimchi and chicharrones. I was in foodie heaven. Oh yes, and that orgasmic dish was only $10. I've been on a whisky cocktail kick lately, and theirs do not disappoint. From the classic Sazerac and Old Fashioned to their Vieux Carre and Vasco de Gama, they do a fantastic job with their cocktails.

Where the Boston cream pie was invented. Classy warm and inviting interior with good cocktails and beers. The food is good but on the expensive side. Don't miss their Boston cream pie, it was the first and you'llcbe surprised how different it is than you expect.

A grand restaurant from another era! They've really improved the food lately, still not too adventurous but far more interesting than the past few years. Our dinner last week featured generous portions of tender rabbit, and my spouse got a terrific strip steak. Service was much warmer than I remember too.
