Here's a Japanese CG short film that Kotaku.com is hailing as "Pixar-styled." It's one of the many Audience Choice Entires for Digicon 6 Asia (Asia's supreme short film contest).

Do you remember my desperate help request post of yesterday(the one that it's already deleted)? Well we made it!
So we (AnigoAnimation + Xygen CG Works) made the introduction video for the "Hon de Domino" event in Japan. Which, btw, was a success and they now have the Guinness record on Dominoes made with books.
Well here is our humble creation.

This is the same #3D #anime artist that I posted about before.  He just posted a new simulation using soft body physics, which is even better.  Makes me really want to get away from #Poser and into #Blender.
Hair Simulation Test #2
Softbody

Pendapat pribadi: bagusan yg ini daripada yg #1 & (Hampir) Mendekati physic yg digunakan di animenya, mungkin selanjutnya mau pake softbody aja buat physic, walaupun ada sedikit masalah

This 3D anime artist is using cloth simulation to simulate the movement of modeled hair.  This is significant, since cel shaded 3D requires modeled hair, rather than static particle style generated hair.  I think this is brilliant!  I have always wondered how to do this kind of hair simulation.  I knew it could be done, because I have seen it in shows, but I never thought to use cloth simulation.  It looks great!

IMO, hasilnya lumayan sesuai harapan, tapi masih butuh perbaikan
