Folks, I've a fairly open diary through the month of May. Get in touch if you'd like to commission some artwork as a gift for someone special, to use on your organisation's website or social media or would like me to draw live at an event.

Cartoonist friends, please participate in the #FreeTurkeyMedia campaign all through the coming month and until World Press Freedom Day (May 3rd), not just for the sake of our colleague Musa Kart - indicted on bogus terrorism charges and facing 29 years in prison - but the third of the world's jailed journalists who are all in Turkey.

Artist friends, please take a few minutes to draw a simple fish - black & white, side view will do - and Tweet it with the hashtag #AddAFish to create a visual shoal in support of Eaten Fish, our fellow cartoonist now on hunger strike in Australia's notorious detention centre on Manus Island, Papua New Guinea. https://twitter.com/search?f=tweets&vertical=default&q=%23addafish&src=tyah

Several organisations including IFEX, the International Federation of Journalists (Asia-Pacific) and Australia's Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance have called for the release of journalist Behrouz Boorchani, actor Mehdi Savari and cartoonist "Eaten Fish", all Iranian refugees held in Australia's detention centre on Manus Island, Papua New Guinea:

In particular Cartoonists Rights Network International are campaigning to resolve the case of Eaten Fish who's been on hunger strike for a week. We fear that without immediate intervention his life will be lost:

If you have the means to help spread the story, please do. More importantly if you are in contact with any parliamentarians or ministers with an interest in or responsibility for asylum policy, human rights or international affairs I'd urge you to contact them and raise the plight of Eaten Fish and all on Manus Island.
