The word derives from the Mayan cenotedzonot, deep meaning. The Yucatan peninsula is formed by a limestone subsoil, highly permeable material. Rain water is filtered and dissolves the porous rock to form a complete and intricate network of caves and underground rivers.

It was terrible, there were broken stairs to the beach, holes in the deck with caution tape, the outside of the building looks terrible, needs paint. the all inclusive food by the pool was terrible. do yourself a favor, go elsewhere and buy food at restaurant or go to much nicer all inclusive. you deserve it if you paid to go to cancun!

Hotel was run down, rooms have mold in ac vent and in washroom. Other room was leeking. Service from staff was terrible at front desk. I would not recommend this hotel. Food was the same everyday for breakfast and lunch.

We had an ok experience, there were wonderful and awful aspects of this place. First the bad. When we arrived we were pushed onto somebody who sat us down for 20 minutes giving us a hard sell on some time share meeting she wanted us to go to. I'm on vacation dammit! Don't feel bad about cancelling one of these. I talked to someone who got talked into it, and they said it took about 5 hours of their day. Their precious vacation day! The resort is in a state of renovation as well, which means that some things are lovely and some look like they need work. Our room had an old television, and the reception was awful, but that's ok as I don't like watching tv on vacation anyway. Also the beach chaise-lounges were quite old, and there weren't enough umbrellas to go around, which meant whoever tipped the most first got the umbrella. Apart from these things, the staff at the resort were super friendly and helpful, especially the reception staff. The waiters and bartenders were also very attentive (after a small tip), and the drinks were not watered down at all. Rather strong actually. It's located in one of the most beautiful strips of beach I've ever seen, and the beach is wonderful. The resort is also a nice buffer against the rest of Mexico, which is taxing at times. We also got a great price through Expedia, so definitely value for money if you don't need 5 star pampering.

First room smell like strong mildew, with a view of trees and under construction tennis court.... I spoke with young lady and she suggested as a acomendation to DOWN grade my room.... I'm still confused and I wasn't even asking for an up grade.... i just wanted the suite but in a different building because the smell was coming through the air vents... They moved me to another building and everything was great EXCEPT for the hard and small bed...... LAST BUT NOT LEAST..... THIS LADY THAT WORKS THE HOTEL IN THE FRONT WHEN YOU FIRST WALK IN WAS VERY UPSET WITH ME BECAUSE I REFUSE TO GO HER FREE EXCURSION that I needed to bring my credit card..... LMBO!!! she call me a lair and told me that I promise to go and she was going to lose money!!! Ha...never again will I stay at this hotel. I'm not just venting .. I've been to Cancun 3 times and I have never had trouble like this.
