The word derives from the Mayan cenotedzonot, deep meaning. The Yucatan peninsula is formed by a limestone subsoil, highly permeable material. Rain water is filtered and dissolves the porous rock to form a complete and intricate network of caves and underground rivers.

The staff... amazing! We stayed 7/29/15 thru 8/5/15. No air conditioning so the room was hot during the day. Fans for night with the breeze was ok. My last night the A/C was fixed. The best part was the staff who worked super hard and made it worth my time and money. I would suggest the breakfast and lunch buffet be switched up. Seemed to be the same. Yes its an older building, but it cheaper. And the night life ends early. Either way we would go back!☆☆☆☆ THANK YOU

So right off the bat, the first thing I noticed is that there no A/C. Which under the Mexican sun, the hotel gets pretty steamy and uncomfortable for everyone. HOWEVER, the staff had to be some of the most hard working and kind people I've ever encountered. Knowing the discomfort of the guests, they were attentative to every of my immediate needs in the duration of my stay. The food is not that great. So don't get your hopes up. The best eats here are not found in the cafeteria. But in the restaurants adjacent to the hotel. The Italian and the Mediterranean come highly recommended should you decide to book here. Those restaurants require reservations though so prepare accordingly. The pools and beach areas are well maintained and enjoyable. The bar is excellently stocked and the entertainment at night is quite enjoyable. So, if you come here, you won't have "the time of your life" if you position your heart to focus on the negatives. But if you posture yourself to enjoy what's in front of you and tangible at the moment, you'll enjoy your stay.

TERRIBLE, DON'T STAY HRRE, NOT EVEN IF IT IS FREE!! I never post reviews but after staying at this hotel, I felt I had to. My husband and I ate at the hotel's Mediterranean restaurant and got projectile vomitting, worst sickness of our lives. It was horrible and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy! And this was just the beginning. None of the hotel doors lock. The safe doesn't have a lock. You have to pay extra for a lock. There is no AC in the entire hotel, which might explain the food poisoning. Hot, unsanitary, unhygienic, and unsafe conditions. Don't stay!

It was terrible, there were broken stairs to the beach, holes in the deck with caution tape, the outside of the building looks terrible, needs paint. the all inclusive food by the pool was terrible. do yourself a favor, go elsewhere and buy food at restaurant or go to much nicer all inclusive. you deserve it if you paid to go to cancun!

First off the air conditioning was "broken" in both towers. Yeah right. The breeze coming through the room was the only thing that made it tolerable. The food in the little Italian restaurant was the place to eat. We would then finish at the buffet. The reservations restaurant service was outstanding and the food was delicious. I watched from the dining room, someone vomit in the pool. The staff there watched as well. An hour later when we made our way to poolside it was still not cleaned up. I inquired at the swim-up bar if someone was going to take care of this, and yes was the answer. After about another 30minutes I had to go to the main desk and make the same request. This time it was finally sucked up by the pool cleaning staff. Kudos front desk people you were the best. Now for the bar staff inside and poolside. You all SUCK yes, that is right you are rude as hell and cater to the "natural born" Mexicans. Even the Mexicans that immigrated to the USA told us that they were "gringos' to the staff there as well. Poolside bar closed at 6pm. I was told sorry we are closed until a non-gringo would come up 10 minutes later as I was nursing my last swallow. Guess what???? Oh that's right the bar was reopened, and then to make themselves feel better now you can also have a drink. WTF????? Again not an exception but daily. I had my 13year old daughter with me. She is a smart girl, she was like daddy "why are they so rude?" The wait staff in the main dining room would slam your glass down, rudely enough that at times the beverage would spill. This was not rare but sadly the normal. Hey a little hint here staff, if it wasn't for tourist outside of Mexico you all would not have a TRABAJO. Beachside The chairs were in horrible repair, and if you wanted a chair you had to go and get one and drag it yourself to the umbrellas!! Entertainment people poolside you all rock!! The 2 shows were great on the main stage. Get it together people!!! I'll pay a couple hundred dollars more to stay elsewhere.

First and foremost, the staff was amazing. The most caring, most loving people! We took a family trip here from July 2, 2015 - July 6, 2015 we get checked in and taken to one of the rooms and it was the most hottest, steamy room I've ever felt! The guy is showing us around opening up the windows for us and I just had to ask about the air and all he could say was "talk to the front desk" the front desk said they haven't had air for a year now almost 2. So at this point I'm so hot and aggravated I couldn't even bare to argue my case so we go to the room and there MILDEW on the sofa bed, bathroom door can't close, bathroom are so outdated, and you can tell housekeeping really try to clean and do what they can but this hotel is just ran down. The rest of our family arrive (12 more people) and there rooms are the same, hot steamy, box spring had mildew on one of there beds as well.. Honestly the only reason I even give this hotel 3 stars is because of the amazing staff and how hard they work even this the miserable heat in the hotel, the food was good, bar was okay we noticed the drinks were watered down tho after the first shot of tequila.. The view of the beach was to die for and the pool area was maintained very clean. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody and I will not stay here again unless they do upgrades and install AC units!
