Vibrant cantina serving modern Mexican cuisine, made-to-order guacamole & tequila cocktails.- Google

This place has disappointed me two times in a row - two mediocre overpriced meals with poor service. Their margheritas are solid, but the service is weak the the food is underwhelming and overpriced. I had the short ribs mole, which should be tough to mess up. Just cook them until the fat melts and they are tender, then add the mole. They claim to roast them overnight - but super globby fatty portion suggested that was highly unlikely (fat mostly melts away when you really cook for a long time) and it wasn't fork tender. And the service acts like they are doing you some sort of favor to serve you. Do yourself a favor, go to one of the many other excellent Mexican restaurants in NYC or to a cheap chain and save yourself from the overpriced mediocrity with attitude.

Response from the owner - in the last week
Dear Dennis McDonald, We apologize for the poor dining experience you describe as having with us at our Dos Caminos Third restaurant. Do you still have your receipt? If so, could you tell me the check number listed as well as the exact date and time you dined with us? If you do not have it, could you tell me all of the items ordered as well as the number of members in your party and name placed for your reservation? All of this information will help us to investigate the issues you have brought to our attention. Please send this information to me at communityrelations@brguestinc.com. Again, we are truly sorry and hope we may have a chance to reestablish our dining relationship with you. Best, Yasmin Silvera BR Guest Hospitality Quality Assurance Associate

The food isn't bad, but the service was extremely slow. We never got the guacamole we ordered, and one of the entrees was wrong. The server did try to make amends with a free drink and dessert, and it very well may not have been his fault. The Dos Caminos in the meatpacking district is much better, though.

Nice atmosphere, was served with margaritas fused with sangria that turned out to be an excellent blend. Their guacamole served spicy was excellent with chips (and I'm sure other food as well). Their sauces didn't really have much of a kick to them however and the menu is a bit pricey.

Overpriced Mexican restaurant that's all this is. Wait time is ridiculous the staff tries to be very nice but the servers are kind of clueless they don't even know what's on the menu. Very slow service. you have to wait a long time for your check. If you want good authentic Mexican food cross the river over to North Bergen New Jersey and go to Puerto Vallarta on 79th and Kennedy Boulevard. And the most expensive thing will be paying the toll back to New York.

The margaritas are not bad, but that's about it. We never got the guacamole we ordered, and they brought out the wrong entree for one of the members of our party. It took forever to get the check. The server tried to make up for it with free dessert, but there are too many good restaurants in this city to waste it on this place. The Dos Caminos in the meat packing district is much better, so if you absolutely must have overpriced, average chain "Latin American" (not truly Mexican, as it's more a Latin American fusion restaurant...) I recommend going to that location.

Great for business lunches reliable service and relaxed big tables make it comfortable to discussion so it's not too intimate. Guacamole always good and they make it mild to wild. Big portions otherwise

Nice place for some good Mexican food in a trendy setting. Drinks are a little pricey, but the margaritas are good. Shrimp tacos are a personal favorite. Staff is friendly and helpful. Just visited the other day and had a great bartender during happy hour. No happy hour deals, though...lest you be confused.
