Every time I visit the Field Museum I am impressed. The permanent exhibits like the natural history and dinosaur sections are always fun and interesting. Seeing Sue the T-rex never gets old. Plus, the special exhibits are truly fascinating and are a chance to see something new and educational. The gift shops are neat to roam around, too. The staff are friendly and if you get a chance to speak with them, you'll learn some interesting things and have an enjoyable, personable conversation.

Great museum! 3 large floors so either get there early and plan to spend the entire day or plan to do multiple days. If you really like to take your time and read every exhibit, you probably need a day per floor. Quite a variety of exhibits from animals & skeletons to countries & culture to varied collections. When I went they had the Chinese Terracotta Warriors and the Women of Vision photography exhibits, which were both fabulous! The museum is definitely worth a visit...or two...or three!

We were thoroughly impressed with this museum, even our young infant was kept quiet by the stunning exhibits. From the shrinking center where you view the world at one hundredth your size, the history of the world going from day one to present including some impressive dinosaur exhibits and all the displays of various species, there is just so much to see that in 4 hours we didn't even see half. Well worth a visit and make sure you keep a big window to see all the sections that interest you. The restaurant on the main floor is also excellent and almost everything is compostable and local.

Great exhibit! So much to see and do! My complaint is their ticketing system. You can order tickets online (which aren't exactly cheap to begin with, but then again, I just went to D.C. where everything is free, so maybe I'm biased) but there is a service which was about $5.70 for our two tickets of $55. I thought we could just scoot right in then, but they have to print out the tickets there, and I'm sure it varies greatly but when we were there, the 'will call' window line was longer than purchase tickets there line, meaning, we could have saved time, money, and effort by not purchasing them in advance, but rather just at the door.

Great museum! I've been going since I was a wee kid and I still love visiting. Just note: being a natural history museum, the exhibits aren't geared to young kids (maybe 5 & under) quite as much as some of the other nearby museums. That said, my little ones enjoyed their trip quite a bit and are looking forward to going back. Highly recommended!

Rock Star Museum! We only had a couple of hours before our flight, so we only toured a portion of the museum. The history of the Americas is an eye opening exhibit. Those who paved the way for life as we know it today, worked very hard.

Want to learn something interesting while in Chicago? Want to see something you don't see everyday? The field museum is the place for you. Th building itself is a huge gorgeous limestone building that houses tons of exhibits. The museum specializes in natural and human history, there is something for everyone here. Worth a visit if you're in Chicago, the crowds here usually aren't bad even on weekends

Great place to kill a day while visiting Chicago. This was on my wife's list of things and we visited while they had the Vikings exhibit. The Vikings exhibit was really extensive and informative. We ended up walking out overextended because we looked and took in so much. Overall it was a great time and would highly recommend it!
