PLEASE USE THE MAP ON OUR WEBSITE FOR DIRECTIONS .The Bull and Beggar is the newest addition to the River Arts District dining scene.  Chef Matt Dawes (former co-chef of Table) and Drew Wallace (creator of The Admiral) opened The Bull and Beggar in July of 2013 with a focus on time tested service and recipes presented in a polished manner.

Great service at the bar and genuinely friendly people throughout. Thoughtful menu of the best local and imported ingredients. Beautifully reclaimed interior. Can't recommend enough.

I was there for dinner on Sunday. Not easy to find, but definitely worth the effort. A beautiful setting and exceptional service. The Civet de Cerf is the last meal I want to eat on this earth.

The atmosphere was pretty chill and cool. The bar food was interesting, not stuff is usually eat, but it was actually really good.

I brought my friend, Nancy Lopez to B&B and she loved it! Food, service was excellent as always. We always bring our clients from Walnut Cove Realty here as well. Great way to show off Asheville's finest food.

This is easily the single best, most amazing and mindblowing food we've eaten in town yet - can't believe we didn't go earlier. We're huge Admiral fans, and its been out goto for a long time - but it seems they've been skimping more lately (which also shows in reviews). Anyway - B & B far exceeded our expectations - which are relatively high - and I will say that the flavors were not only off the hook, but the overall experience was 3 times better than Admiral (which is saying a lot). We had the lobster roll, maple-butter hushpuppies for app / side, followed by pork belly and hart / vert (toms & greenbeans), with a filet mignon and a maple-seared peach w/ lavender icecream to follow. The lobster roll literally makes the typical roll you find at any Maine lobster pound seem like a complete joke - the flavors were so amazing that we're not even sure what happened. The hushpuppies come w/ a whipped maple butter - again, beyond anything we imagined, crisp exterior but tender interior - perfect. Pork belly came with an incredible sauce having either (or both) fennel or licorice - but perfectly balanced, not overboard. The toms & bean plate was for some roughage and it was excellent as well - a very light cream sauce for the beans - exquisite. The filet was of course the main stage, being in an exceptionally rich sauce and with a side of marrow in the bone - which we placed directly on our cuts of the meat...first we'd seen those pared together. I wish I knew more about the sauce, but it was so rich - along with everything else- dessert was literally built into the meal. I don't think you can go wrong here, at least if the quality of ingredients, display, and creativity remains this high...this is a 10 star atmosphere, quality, flavor, and experience. The staff was typical Asheville friendly (though probably not originally from here) - the friendliness seeming to be slipping hugely from most of the higher end foodie places to go - so that was a plus. The only thing I can bitch about was simply that the saison (Burial - also our favorite brewery) was served in a german style beer mug / stein rather than the typical stem that it should be in - and it looked more like 10/12 oz vs the 16 I was expecting - but the Cannery Row (mixed drink) w/ rosemary was amazing and not really worth complaining about.
