This review is specifically for a large group dinner, we've been to this location a number of times with groups of 2-6 people and everything was great, decided to plan a dinner for a group of 16. They will not make reservations with regular menu, only prefix, starting at $90/per person, that's without alcohol. No mention of family style service, which is something that should have been mentioned since many people in the group have various food preferences. Portions are small (smaller than usual menu portions), so what happens is that there is not enough food for everyone to go around due to the family style service. Desert was the worst, they brought out 2 varieties of deserts, 16 in total. One of the deserts was served in tiny cups (chocolate soufflé), so definitely not something to be shared. So basically some people got soufflé and some people did not. Service was awful, the bus boy kept clearing plates and deserts BEFORE guests had a chance to finish. I saw him taking away un-touched deserts. Coffee/tea was not served at all, only after we had to ask numerous times, and after the desert was served. Basically, it seems that if you pay more you get worse service - we left over $2k that night and left hungry. We would definitely come back for regular dinners, but stay away for any large group/event dinners!

A beautiful place! The staff is great and the menu does the job. The food is executed well and their filet mignon, that I asked rare, was rare. Which is sometimes rare (sorry) in NYC. It was also very good, with a mushroom sauce. The place is also cool for brunches if all the brunch places around are full. The salmon benedictine always does the trick. A very good place to prepare for a night of festivities in meatpacking.

Best waitstaff so friendly and helpful. I went there with a friend who had food allegeries the waiter was so accommodating and really went the extra mile to make sure we both were happy with our meal. We were very happy, food was great and my steak was perfect, the crostinis were amazing soooo many different ones to choose. Loved the atmosphere great vibe and it's right in the Meatpacking district can't go wrong there.

Place is beautiful but food is truly average. With each course I expected to be impressed but was disappointed... kind of hard bread, cold truffle croquet, tough chicken tagine... foodies will not think this meets the bar... so many other great places in NYC

Shared the whole branzino with a friend, and must admit it was very good. I enjoyed the appetizers here too- the waitress was knowledgeable to explain the different types of crostini- the best of which was the one with buffalo mozzarella. Great Friday night buzz with in-house DJ, and great cocktails as you wait for your table.

Second attempt at Fig & Olive. Classic example of attitude and price far exceeding competence. Service was slow. Waiter was unhelpful. The tables are jammed in which makes seating very cramped. The waffle was not freshly prepared and was hard as cardboard - I've had far better at a highway diner. Finally they have one single men's and women's bathroom each for a restaurant that seats several hundred.

Tasty but a bit flashy (think truffle oil). Wine should be better given bottle prices start a bit high.
