If you are still slogging it out over HFT, you are missing the point. The real debate is about market structure.

This is a long-term trend. Datacenters are the battleships of the technology industry. Big, expensive and powerful. To change course, it takes time (and commitment).

Most surprising thing here is the NY State banking regulator had a reddit Q&A about Bitcoin. You don't see many regulators being social friendly

It's good to see SunGard's CTO try this out. It's really a no-lose event...developers are happy, SunGard is happy and hopefully (eventually) the customers will be happy with the new and innovative technology.

SEC making a joke of WSJ's freedom of information act request. Simply ludicrous

Nice to see WS&T's RBC Photo Shoot photos in this 60 Minute episode. See more photos of Brad Katsuyama and RBC's trading floor at http://goo.gl/QkIj7T

“We found a problem. It’s affecting millions and millions of people. People are blindly losing money they didn’t even know they’re entitled to,” says Brad Katsuyama, explaining why he felt “a sense of obligation” to leave his high-paying job at the Royal Bank of Canada to start IEX.

IEX aims at bringing “trust” and “transparency” to computerized trading by eliminating the advantage of high-speed traders: http://cbsn.ws/1iPPTXE

It looks like the UTP Committee has put the SIP up for bid. Who will step up?
