I am a biologist, author and wildlife photographer. I grew up in western and southern India studying wildlife of various kinds, especially birds, mammals, and butterflies. I received my PhD in Integrative Biology from University of Texas at Austin in 2008. I was then a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at Harvard University. Now I am a Reader F and Ramanujan Fellow at the National Center for Biological Sciences (NCBS), based in Bengaluru, India. My current research work is on mimicry, evolutionary genetics, evolution of sexual dimorphism, and biodiversity and conservation. I study most of these topics using butterflies as model systems. More information is given on my website.
