Great news for DET schools using the Department's G Suite domain: Principals can now request for staff and/or students to be able to share documents and sites outside of the domain, either to other schools or to the world wide web.

"External sharing for docs and sites can now be enabled for individual schools now. The principal will have to fill in the opt-in form (URL) below so it can be enabled for his school:

My wife and I have been foster carers for a number of years, and the plight of children in foster care is very close to our hearts. My amazing wife is about to absail down a 27 storey building in an effort to raise money for support and services for these children. Please consider donating even a small amount through the link below.

A couple of years ago I helped a group of students create a Street View experience for our school and upload it to Google Maps. Didn't expect it would achieve such crazy numbers: 300 000 views! Incredible.

A good look at the 'echo chamber' and related 'fake news' issue facing social media and how it can shape people's thoughts and opinions. What level of responsibility should companies like Facebook be expected to take for the dissemination of false information?

Some interesting discussion points in this article. Can our education system change fast enough to prepare students to be employable in a future where 'machine learning' has replaced traditional jobs, and if not, is capitalism still the best economic system moving forward considering the extent of unemployment that beckons?
