                     Ice Storm in Switzerland

These pictures were taken in Versoix, a town near Geneva in Switzerland.
Very cold conditions, (-8 to -12 deg C, 10 deg F) combined with winds of over 100 km/hr (62 miles/hr) resulted in a spray that froze on anything that it touched! It took place in January 2005. The water is from Lake Geneva (Lake Léman). You can see more photos from the Ice Storm here.

I loved him in Mission Impossible 4.
+Robert Scoble and +Sergey Brin at last night's Dinner in the Dark benefit for the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Sergey was sporting a prototype of the hotest new accessory of the evening, the Google glasses.

You can get a closer view of Sergey and the glasses here: http://goo.gl/cLFwM and an even closer view here: http://goo.gl/1qftX

Sergey's wife and 23andMe Co-Founder Anne Wojcicki was at the dinner receiving an award from the Foundation.

Good news Canon. Sergey says he is in fact upgrading from a 5D Mark II to the 5D Mark III, but he's also getting a Nikon D800 too, so it will be interesting to see which one he ends up liking more.

Sergey rocks.
The Google Glasses are real!

Thomas Hawk and I are at a dinner to raise money for the Foundation Fighting Blindness.

When I first got here I spotted Google co-founder +Sergey Brin. He was wearing THOSE GLASSES!

He quickly told me it is a prototype. I saw a bluish light flashing off of his right eyeball. I could only guess that my Google+ profile flashed up, or maybe some PR voice said "stay quiet" or something like that.

But the glasses are real. Very light looking. Most of the people around us had no idea that these glasses are pretty special.

Anyway, we are still at the dinner. They will soon turn off the lights to let us know what it is like to be blind.

More later. Thanks to Thomas Hawk, who is blind in one eye, for shooting this photo of us together.
