The past couple of years have been the busiest in my 15 years of doing Flash/Web Front end Dev. The past couple of months have been my quietest. I thought I would use the free time to see what jquery was all about.

This is my first attempt at creating a site with html5/CSS and jQuery. It's been all Flash for just over 13 years. I wasn't interested in creating the traditional html site with it's static menus nor was I interested in creating these new sites with basic animations and anchors on a single page. I wanted to see if I could create a site that resembles my Flash site (

So here is what I came up with after 6-7 weeks playing with html5/CSS and jQuery.
I've still got a couple of things I want to add in regards to functionality but I am happy that it is working well on nearly all devices.

I am open to hear any comments good or bad. Hearing something about the site is better than hearing nothing. Most importantly it would be nice to see some comments posted to my guestbook.

Interesting read.
In your opinion, what is the future of Flash as a platform? (hit +1 on the comment below to vote)

BREAKING: Google to buy Motorola!

Google announced this morning that it has agreed to buy Motorola!

Looking to "supercharge the Android ecosystem," Google will run Motorola as a "separate business."

It looks like the acquisition is primarily about patents. Google said in its announcement:

We recently explained how companies including Microsoft and Apple are banding together in anti-competitive patent attacks on Android. The U.S. Department of Justice had to intervene in the results of one recent patent auction to “protect competition and innovation in the open source software community” and it is currently looking into the results of the Nortel auction. Our acquisition of Motorola will increase competition by strengthening Google’s patent portfolio.
