Welcome to Tavolino! In any Italian town you’ll find there’s one restaurant where everyone gathers to eat and to socialize. It’s the name that comes to mind when going out is suggested, and has a menu

My wife and I went to Tavolino this past weekend with another couple. I have to say I was underwhelmed in many respects: 1) The place is very loud making conversation very difficult. 2) The lighting is very dim; even with my "reader glasses" I had some difficulty reading the menu (especially the wine list). 3) Now the food - I ordered the Rosemary Steak Tips in Bourbon sauce with Zucchini and Spinach Risotto. The tips, though grilled to the proper temperature, were very tough and did not have any taste at all. It was like cutting through leather. The risotto followed suit, very bland and no character. The zucchini was good. 4) The portions are huge, ridiculously huge. I only ate half of my dinner and took the rest home, which I reluctantly ate the next day. We probably will not return unless there are some changes. It's unfortunate because Tavolino is in a great spot and has so much potential.

WOW what a disappointment, even with a 50% off Groupon the meal was not worth the trip. We went with a party of 5 each having a different meal and not one of the 5 was worth even a drive across town to obtain let alone a 25 minute drive. The decor was modern and stylish but I was their to eat not buy furniture. My daughter had chicken parm that reminded me of the old Vinny Testa's huge portion lacking flavor. Sorry I won't be back.

Unfortunately, the menu has changed recently and we found the food overpriced and lacking. My wife had the cod and would not get it again. The cod was the only fish entry and she is a vegetarian. I had the sirloin steak and was decent but only 7 ounces. It does appear that they increased their choice of pizzas which may their specialty at this time.

The waiter (Alexander) remembered us from 4 month earlier and remembered what we had to eat. Very impressive. His service was excellent as before. We had the Tuscan rustic wings. Very different. I would have never thought of these flavor together but it was very good and the dip complimented it well. The crispy ravioli pizza was also ordered because it was so unique. Awesome choice and flavoring together. Artichoke hearts, goat cheese, tomatoes, and fried ravioli's with balsamic drizzle. Another great pizza hit here. Can't wait to try another pizza selection. We mentioned it was our anniversary and our dessert said "happy anniversary". Very nice touch. My experience this time was a 5 star. Based on last time I would give it a 4.5 total. The only down fall is that we will not order entrees here because of the portion size and price. Change that and it will be 5 stars.

Tavolino is one of my favorite spots in Westboro. They have delicious Italian food and an excellent wine selection (my favorite is the seasonal tortellacci pasta with goat cheese). The servers are always friendly and attentive. Intimate atmosphere - also great for birthdays /special occasions.

Extraordinary service, it was really fantastic. The recommended wine, for $25, was a steal. That said the food was average at best. The signature wild boar gnocchi app was not enjoyable. The crispy ravioli pizza, while interesting was very mediocre. The crust was thin, yet some how too chewy; also lacking flavor. The ravioli was deep fried in very old smelling oil (think corndogs at a fair).

I have been to this restaurant multiple times with family and friends...each time I expect a good meal. I am disappointed every time......from pizza, entrees you name it...everything is only suggestion would be to try Arturos Restaurant right across the street...way better choice!
