Yes being a Snowbird Mountain Host is a glorious assignment. How can one call this work?  Manning a race gate, becoming a Human Snow Stake at 11,000', is work one can't give away. Dreaming of the heated Lifty Shack at Little Cloud, ten minutes of heated Heaven, before the next shift at the infamous Lizard Gate. No chance of a delivery of cheese fries on this day...

Bob Risner of Utah was the reason many of us smiled on the water at Jordanelle, just seeing he and Betsy, knowing anyone within earshot would either get a great lesson or see an example of excellent paddling and effort.  Such a healthy guy, always had his shirt off, always smiling.

http://www.nytimes.com/newsgraphics/2014/sochi-olympics/giant-slalom.html    The finest example I've ever seen of the new digital media...stop action, drone shots, and wicked race turns.

What about adding to paddles, and your posture/stance while paddling?

A winner of a video...has to be tough to paddle an inflatable that far..
Why do a standup paddle expedition? This video answers that question so well that we'll let them do the talking.

Following on from his amazing series last week, here are Halley Docherty’s latest collages for us – well known historical paintings of city scenes around the world, from Istanbul to Saint Petersburg and Tokyo to New York, superimposed on to Google Street View • Classic London paintings meet Google

I used to surf Salt Creek, its a cove, not a flat beach. Attendance might be down, casual onlookers all have to drive in, less parking, no yoga, no kids will survive if there's a swell.

Ty is great, he diagnosed my rotor problem, quoted me, didn't upsell, and did the work on time, on budget next day. Probably saved me $150 over a dealer, with warranty. I've used this location many times. You can tell which locations have the best team.

Sandy is a great local resource when you want old fashioned, intelligent service. He's been there for years, totally knowledgeable. All the gear in the shop if first class. Easy to find downtown, close to the freeway.
