This place is awesome! The decor was spectacular, every dish I ordered was amazingly delicious, the prices were pretty reasonable, and all the waiters were very kind. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some good japanese food.

The ambience is amazing here! They have it right. One caveat. Don't drink the sake if you are driving. It is very strong. However, the sushi is prepared with such quality and detail that I wonder if the chef is indigenous to Japan. Not only is the sushi near perfect, but the manner in which they serve it. The experience can't be placed into words, and I am grateful to the manager for taking the time to explain it all to me. Thank you.

I hadn't been here for a couple of years but now that I'm closer I went back in and loved it just as much as before. Love the volcano roll.

Got a Groupon for this restuarant, just to try it out. I've been back with friends 3 times now. They have great curry & sushi, and I love the atmosphere inside. Usually I'm pretty skeptical when a place serves mixed Asian food - like they do here with Thai and Japanese, but we've all be really happy so far. Reasonable prices, very good portions (I always take some home), and really tasty.

This place is a south Tampa staple. Pretty darn good sushi and a nice happy hour on rolls till seven every night. There are some better places in Tampa but you can't beat JoTos consistency and quality.

My girlfriend and I used to go to Joto's once or twice a year. We considered it a bit of a treat as joto's used to be one of our favorite restaurants. We live in Tarpon Springs, but the drive used to be worth it. After eating there recently, were walked out very disappointed. My girlfriend ordered the salmon teriyaki. When she asked to have it only lightly seared so the center was raw, the waiter told her the salmon was smoked and was fully hooked. It did not sound like a very good dish to my girlfriend, but the waiter said ith was 'really good'...so she tried it. She said that it was terrible. I ordered beef teriyaki. It looked like the beef had been steamed instead of cooked in a wok or on a grill and the vegetables looked a little dry (though they tasted fine). It was also barely warm enough to be considered servable. Along with all that, the waiter took it upon himself to crack poor jokes every time he served us. At one point, I asked for a refill on my water and he replied, "No...just kidding". We will be looking for a new Japanese place.
