went there on a Friday afternoon. They have a nice dining room but no one was sitting in it, (all the people were sitting outside). Got a tongue burrito to go. Got it very fast. Waitress was cute, helpful, and friendly. Would definitely go back to get something else. Burrito was good too. Edit: Try the chile mango ice cream. Tasty.

Try the Cuban. It is amazing, and the largest sandwich you'll ever eat. Great place!!!

i liked the way this place felt. it has a small authentic mexican feel to it. my wife and i ate there last night. i ordered the $13 fajita plate and my wife ordered the $13 spicy shrimp empanadas. yes, the food was good and usually i am stuffed after ordering a fajita plate at any restaurant BUT at this place the serving was a bit small and i left still hungry. they didn't serve us chips until we actually asked for them. the first basket of chips was really good and warm. the 2nd basket of chips was cold, stale, and had a funky smell to them. weird, eh? we asked for salsa as there was nothing to dip the chips into and no sauce at any of the tables.!!??? the server gave us this tiny little bowl of chunky pico de gallo. it was so tiny and the entire mexican chip event was very disappointing. isn't half the reason to go to a mexican place to eat chips and salsa?? my wife wanted a margarita and the server asked if she would like regular or small sized. that was such an odd response so i inquired what the sizes actually were. turns out there are 4 sizes. large and jumbo were also sizes but the server didn't offer those. there is also a $21 pitcher of magaritas. i was a bit frustrated since the server didn't know what a dos equis beer was and so i decided to order the $21 pitcher. this was a BAD idea. what they did was completely insult my intelligence. the pitcher came completely filled to the top with ice and then margaritta was poured over the ice. I thought i was going to get a pitcher of margaritta and instead i got a $21 pitcher of ice with enough margaritta mix to fill our small glasses 5 times. the pitcher was quickly empty aside from the fact that it was still full to the top with ice. There seemed to be little booze in it. SO...the management may have thought thought that a $21 pitcher of ice with some weak margaritta mix in it and small food portions might be good for their bottom line but they definitely lost us as customers. I will never return. I left with a $52 bill and was still hungry and definitely not even the slightest margaritta buzz.

This used to be a great place, see my old review but now the service is terrible and the food inconsistent at best... Old review-->I've been coming here since it was a hut with a counter inside. Love the cachete and lengua tacos if you're up for something different authentic and delicious. Also the aquas are wonderful, try the rompeppe or horchata. The owner makes the ice cream himself and they have amazing fresh fruit flavors. I tried the curdled milk ice cream last night - sounds strange but tastes kind of like cheesecake. I also love the torta cubano, loaded with chorizo queso hot dogs refritos ham tomato lettuce and strips of jalepeno -delish and filling. They keep fresh pickled vegetables on the table as a condiment nice touch.

My 7 month pregnant wife and I love Mexican food. We, like many couples I'm sure, have our usual spots. Tonight we decided to venture out and try a new place. La Vallensana came highly recommended by friends and co-workers so we decided to give it a shot. I would have gotten tongue tacos, but they were out. My wife would have gotten guacamole, but they were also out. I ended up with a couple fish tacos and a grilled steak torta. My wife got a mushroom quesadilla. There was nothing wrong with the food and we left full. I suppose we were looking for food better than fine and fine is what we got. The torta was good and the tacos bland. The quesadilla was good but small and kind of sandwich like. The salsa was served out of ramakins which was annoying because we had to break apart all the chips to scoop out the salsa...and my wife found a spider on her arm (we were outside, no strike given). If you're looking for an alright meal than by all means. However, if you're looking for an outstanding meal for the same price or less than venture a mile down Cherokee and check out Tower Tacos. We like their patio, food, and service much better. We we're both in agreement that while we were full, we would have been full and satisfied had we gone to Tower Tacos.
